Hi, I'm Laura
(she/her pronouns)
My aim is to provide a nurturing environment where adults and children can explore their inner selves, cultivate honesty, and find a safe space to express their thoughts and emotions. I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and sexologist skilled in guiding clients through the journey of self-discovery, fostering a deep understanding of themselves and their emotions. Through personalised counseling sessions, my aim is to empower all clients to navigate life's challenges with authenticity and confidence, promoting mental well-being and personal growth.
In addition to providing support for understanding oneself and creating a safe space, I also specialise in issues relating to sexuality. For most people, discussions and information around safe and healthy intimacy, gender expression, sexual function, and enthusiastic consent are crucial aspects of life. I provide comprehensive guidance on how to enjoy healthy sexual relationships while ensuring mutual respect and safety.
I offer specialised trauma-informed support for those who have experienced sexual harm, helping them navigate through the complex emotions and feelings associated with such trauma. I provide a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where individuals can heal, regain a sense of control, let go of shame and guilt, and rebuild their personal power. My goal is to empower clients to make informed decisions about their sexual health and relationships while fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth.
We can talk about anything

What is a Sexologist?
In the broadest sense, a sexologist is someone who studies or researches sex. However, the term sexologist is also used to describe someone who works in a private or group practice. We help people resolve sexual issues and challenges, much like a sex therapist – though there are some differences. A sexologist generally has an advanced degree such as a masters (MA), professional doctorate (DHS), or doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.) in Human Sexuality Studies, and will often be recognised through some kind of certifying body such as the Society of Australian Sexologists.
My Qualifications:
Master of Sexology from Curtin University
Graduate Diploma Counselling & Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania
Level 2 Accreditation with the Australian Counselling Association
State Treasurer & member of the Society of Australian Sexologists
